During my time at Gunzilla Games working on Off The Grid, I was brought in during the late development phase of a new area when it became clear that the original concept hadn’t been fully realized. I stepped in to lead the set dressing for the space around saltie such as the cliff face areas and the hillside to the east, working closely with my team to identify and list additional assets needed to align the environment with the intended art direction. A key focus was ensuring the cliff faces conveyed the feel of an industrial facility, transforming them visually to resemble a quarry through the addition of structural elements like retaining walls and detailed dressing.
Beyond my role as Lead Biome Artist, I collaborated directly with the Art Director and Technical Art Team to improve development workflows. I helped drive the creation of new tools, including a Road Decal Spline Tool, which allowed the team to efficiently add tyre tracks and road markings across the environment. This tool significantly improved the efficiency and optimization of the workflow by eliminating the need for manually placing thousands of individual decals, empowering the environment artists to focus on the broader visual fidelity of the area.
