Midtown Harbour - Teardrop, Off The Grid

During my time at Gunzilla Games working on Off The Grid, I had the opportunity to collaborate with my team on Midtown Harbour, a distinct urban environment requiring biome-related assets to blend natural elements seamlessly into the cityscape.

As Lead Biome Artist, I oversaw the creation of new foliage assets, including Azalea trees and Bamboo, to ensure the environment aligned with the Art Bible and overall art direction of the project. We developed a highly reusable Ivy Kit, designed for flexibility and broad application across the entire area. Additionally, we worked closely with Technical Art to create custom ivy pieces, which were integrated into an Ivy Generation Tool, allowing for dynamic placement in denser, more complex areas.

Throughout development, I provided set dressing and artistic feedback, ensuring alignment with the Art Director’s vision, particularly in vegetation-heavy zones of Midtown Harbour. The focus was always on achieving a cohesive balance between urban structures and natural elements, enriching the environment’s visual storytelling.
